Celebrate the Summer of Freedom this July 4th, with this huge list of area events!

GREENSBORO
  • Fun Fourth Walk Saturday, June 28 10K walk or run in honor of a member of the military. A Tot's Run will be held at 8:45 a.m. This fundraiser will pay for phone cards for military members and their families.
  • Fun Fourth History Sunday, June 29 from 1-6 p.m. Heritage Day at Blandwood Features bluegrass and folk music, heritage crafts and Revolutionary War reenactments.
  • Fun Fourth Block Party Thursday, July 3 Held at the Corner of Summit and Lindsay Streets in downtown Greensboro from 7-11 p.m. Come shag to the beach music of Black and Blue. Admission is $10.
  • Fun Fourth Parade and Street Festival Friday, July 4 Downtown Greensboro Cultural District - Free Crafts, activities, and food. The Greensboro Historical Museum will be open all day with free admission. 9:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. For more information call 336-274-4595.

  • East Bend Celebration East Bend Elementary School Begins at 9:30 a.m. with a parade and ends with fireworks at night. Food, crafts, activities, rides, a special speaker and fire works.
    N.C. MOUNTAINS EVENTS
  • City-County Plaza in Asheville Music, food and patriotic festivities followed by a fireworks display at dusk. 8 p.m. - 12 a.m.
  • Tweetsie Railroad in Blowing Rock Fireworks after the park closes at 9 p.m. $5 per car
